It's called "TEDMED", and they should be sued for deception, in my opinion. This is a long commercial for a "supplement" that has not been evaluated by the FDA, and has not been proven to "lengthen" Telomeres. That's why they make vague claims of "improving Telomere Health". Well, gee, maybe drinking water will improve Telomere health? Maybe breathing air will improve Telomere health? This looks like a scam to me, and I hope people will do research before giving these people who create fake TED talks their money…… reply to comment → Ember2460 Harrington December 21, 2018 at 2:21 am Worrying about my telomeres now causes me stress😣😝 reply to comment → Ember2460 Harrington December 21, 2018 at 2:21 am They always say that but what if your Present Sucks? ?? reply to comment → Steve Thomas December 21, 2018 at 2:21 am Can eating a healthy diet, exercise, and meditation help regrow these telomeres? reply to comment → Immortal December 21, 2018 at 2:21 am Yes dear, we all know stress causes aging. But these narrow-minded biologists have seized the entire gerontology, absolutely do not understand the nature of aging, but promise to understand and ask for money for themselves. Old people can rejuvenate their bodies today, there is a technique, but these researchers with one cell in their head do not allow this. And people are dying. – https://downstate.academia.edu/ValeryChuprin/Papers reply to comment → Brian McNellis December 21, 2018 at 2:21 am GODDAMN IT! Where can I get some telamerase? I don't care about lifestyle telemere lengthening! Emotional connections to aging is not new, it's not helpful! Start experiments on adult's today, not mice! WTF!!! Where's the science? You sit there n' say nothing, over n'over n'over n'over! reply to comment → Maximilian Kieselbach December 21, 2018 at 2:21 am I don't wanna stop aging nor slow it down i want to accelerate it so i can finally die reply to comment → Chris Daldy-Rowe December 21, 2018 at 2:21 am WTF does she mean REPTILLIAN brain..i thought we all have monkey brains…maybe thats why she's soo skinny…she is from the lizzard family reply to comment → mtasik olmaz December 21, 2018 at 2:21 am When youwere born once a month Telomeres You must take. 60 after Ifyou are 60 years old Take Telemeres . It's almost satanic in its design. We cause our own stress out of doing what we're not supposed to be doing, rather than living a full life away from the slavery from chasing money. If that IS you, get away from it. Find things and people you love and give up on killing yourself to get things you don't need. Warm, or cool dry shelter, water and 3000 calories a day. Exercise by gardening what you eat. Too simple. reply to comment → Bicep Brah December 21, 2018 at 2:21 am What an amazing presentation! They did a great job presenting. reply to comment → Jaron Lines December 21, 2018 at 2:21 am Dr. Joel Wallach is a hero! Nice ad TED you fucking morons reply to comment → KatariaGujjar December 21, 2018 at 2:21 am From an ecological point of view, if people lived forever then additional offspring would rapidly increase the population of humans to an unsustainable level, whereby it would run out of resources and likely go extinct. This is the basic population dynamics model used in ecology. This explains why somatic (body cells) are low in telomerase activity (will age) while stem cells (including germ cells, i.e. sperm/egg precursors) have very high telomerase activity so that the latter (stem cells) does not age and can be used to form healthy offspring. In purely biological terms, the purpose of any life is to procreate – non-aging stem cells guarantee this; while the aging somatic cells keep population dynamics in check.Although, from an evolutionary point of view, this would require 'directed' mutation which has been scientifically negated. Meaning: evolution by 'random' mutation most likely would not yield this result. Conclusion: telomerase activity makes sense from a ecological point of view but makes no sense from an evolutionary point of view. reply to comment → Nils Osmar December 21, 2018 at 2:21 am It's hard to take TED talks seriously, since the organization allow some video which make outlandish unsubstantiated claims to play without warnings, yet plaster warnings on some of the most well-reasoned talks (like Terry Wahls' presentation about how changing her diet seemed to improve her multiple sclerosis — which is heresy, as far as TED is concerned). Of course people should listen critically to everything they hear, but TED's criteria for which videos they plaster with warnings, seem inconsistent and arbitrary. reply to comment → Leave a Reply Cancel reply Your email address will not be published.
